Aside from getting tested on volunteers, each batch of our products is tested and analyzed by our QA/QC department to make sure each batch matches the ones before and has all the physical and chemical properties that have been standardized by SE. Add to that, the SE team and different departments must follow a set of standard requirements and rules set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Our products undergo months of testing, in parallel with the formulation phase. During this process, around 50 volunteers take part in the testing phase by trying our new products and relaying their own personal experience with us through a weekly online feedback survey sent to them. These volunteers have different skin and hair types, which allows us to get a clearer idea of the effect of these products on different users. The safety and non-toxicity of our ingredients put none of our volunteers in danger and allow us to strictly observe the effects of the products on them and their efficacy.

Our products are formulated using ingredients that are safe, non-toxic, and suitable for hypo-allergenic individuals. Add to that they are free of parabens, sulfates, phosphates, and other harmful heavy metals that might be hormone disrupting or carcinogenic, thus making our products suitable to be used by expecting mothers and their newborns as well.

At Savvy Element, we are concerned by how sustainable our ingredients are rather than whether they are natural or synthetic. To make a conscious decision about our raw materials, we always consider that the way a substance has been extracted or synthesized is as important to sustainability as the source of the raw material from which it is made. While natural ingredients are always perceived as “better” namely in personal care products, they may carry sustainability concerns. Raw materials from vegetable sources can lead to deforestation issues. Of equal importance are the synthetic ingredients which can also play an important role in the sustainability of raw materials and cannot be automatically excluded from the equation. Keeping this in mind, we evaluate each ingredient considering a set of factors that determine its sustainability from an environmental perspective in the first place mainly on its degree of biodegradability, bioaccumulation potential and aquatic toxicity.

All our products are designed, manufactured and packaged in Lebanon.

To date, we are only able to source 40% of our ingredients locally, due to unavailability of local manufacturers and suppliers.

None of our products contain synthetic fragrances. We only use pure essential oils and plant- extracts in both our home-care and self- care lines.

All Savvy Element products are free from paraffin and parabens.

All Savvy Element products are free from sulfates and silicon.
